The Arkansas Hills Trail System are the closest trails to downtown Salida. On the F street bridge you can see the Frontside Trail zig zag across S-Mountain. Built in 2010, this trail leads to a sweet single track system to the north and East of downtown. S-Mountain, Ute Trail, Deadhorse and Cottonwood Gulches. These areas are in Salida’s back yard. This area is on the warm side of the valley so many of the trails stay relatively warm and snow-free during the winter. It’s a beautiful thing to ride above 7000′ in the winter. Welcome Summit County refugees and CB homies. Prost.
