About Luis's RV rentals

I’m an outdoor and nature lover with an adventurous spirit and exploration at my core. Whether it’s backpacking deep into the wilderness, paddleboarding on a quiet lake, or chasing waterfalls, I’m always looking for the next great adventure. I thrive on long hikes that lead to summit views and refreshing swims in hidden alpine lakes. The best trips are the ones that take you off the beaten path and into the wild. Always ready to explore somewhere new, how about you? Where are you headed next?

Luis was great from start to finish. I wish I could leave 10 stars because this is actually my 2nd rental. The first we mutually agreed to cancel and still should have been 5 stars. He is incredibly accommodating. The RV itself was easy to drive and maneuver. Will use again. Thank you!

This RV had everything needed for our trip. Luis and Rachel (owners) made sure we had everything for our trip and did a great job explaining how to operate the RV. The RV is on the older side but we found it very homely and comfortable for two people (non-couple). Some minor cosmetics and door functions to be repaired but did not take away from the usability of the RV. The RV runs great and did admirably driving mountain roads in the Pacific Northwest.

What can I say, I've waited for over two months for the owner to reach out and try and make the situation right but we have heard nothing. I don't like to leave negative reviews-ever-things happen and I feel like if someone takes the time to do the right thing than that is enough for me to feel good about it. We rented the RV in late July for about 5 days to visit family before we moved to the East Coast. This was high way driving only about 4 hours away and then we stayed in a campground with hookups. When the RV was dropped off the step was broken which made it difficult for our toddler and dogs but we dealt with it...no big deal. We were also told that the RV was mechanically sound it had just been to the shop for a full tune-up but the generator was not working. Again, no biggie we were staying at a campground with hookups. We literally drove the RV to our destination and pretty much had it parked for 3 nights. We headed home early due to wildfire smoke and about 3 hours from our destination the RV overheated on the freeway. It was scary, my husband lost power steering and brakes and thank GOD was able to pull off the next exit. Thankfully there happened to be a Walmart right there so we pulled and parked. We reached out to Luis who gave us the roadside service information to call. Long story short no one was coming to help us. We were stranded in over 100 degree heat in a hot asphalt parking lot with two small children and two dogs overnight (remember no generator so no A/C, water, toilet etc...). In fact no arrangements were made to help us get home by the insurance and roadside service companies the only concern was getting the RV towed to a shop. The roadside service was literally going to leave us there with all our stuff in the middle of the parking lot in high heat. I was able to ask them to hold off until we could either make arrangements for a rental car or have someone pick us up which thankfully they did but it was a hassle. My mother in law finally was able to make two trips and get us and all our stuff. Luis did offer to pay for a rental car at the time which was nice but obviously if we didn't have to incur costs at his expense we weren't going to. My mother in law lived about 45 minutes away and was able to pick us up and bring us to her house where we borrowed one of her cars to get home and they later came up and retrieved it. Any way my point is...crap happens...RV's breakdown. Luis was very nice and responsive through the ordeal but once the RV got towed we never heard from him again. I would have expected at least some sort of partial refund, maybe a heartfelt apology or a follow-up? One positive about the trip I guess is that we got to check off the bucket list spending a night in a Walmart parking lot LOL!

I have to change my review for this RV rental. I initially gave Luis 5 stars if for no other reason than I thought that he was going to do right and adequately compensate for the inoperable refrigerator (I had to throw away a $50 cake I had commissioned for my husband birthday) and AC, the empty fresh water tank and almost full grey water/black water tanks that prevented us from having showers and a place to do dishes. I do still believe that this is not a normal situation for his rental, but at the end of the day this was a terrible experience for myself and the people in my group.
At pick up I asked about why the fresh water tank was showing as full 1/3 full and why the grey water showed as 2/3 full. I was advised that it was because the RV was at a slant and was assured that the tanks were empty/full. I had also asked about why the light above the refrigerator was blinking and was advised that it was ok and the the frig worked. On the second day of our trip, after we arrived at our destination I reported that the levels showed as 3/4 full for black water, full for grey water, and empty for fresh water I was told that the grey and black water levels had a tendency to not reflect correctly and that since we were barely using any of those tanks they should be fine. Also keep in mind that once we parked the RV there we were unable to move it until the event was over.
In retrospect I should have been far more thorough in checking every function of the RV was working. The refrigerator never cooled and the main AC did not turn on once we arrived to our destination in the Mojave Desert. We had no reason to try to turn it on before we arrived. We were so excited to get on the road for our long drive that we neglected to make sure everything was operational. At least would have had that at the end of the trip.
In addition to learning that the AC and refrigerator would not be amenities we thought we would have we also learned that the tanks were not adequately full/empty. This prevented us from having a place to do dishes, shower, and have a private toilet. For most of our group that was ok because we didn't NEED those amenities, but 3 of our group only went to the event because they would have access to those due to health concerns. Luckily everything turned out ok for them and nobody had any issues arise.
I'm not sure what caused that fresh water tank to be empty by the second day of our rental (we had over 30 gallons of drinking water in containers outside of the RV) but I am sure the missing fresh water cap did not help. We were able to get it covered shortly after pick up and I don't think we lost the entire tanks capacity of water before it was caught we were losing water every time we turned right. Throughout the trip I regularly checked the tanks because we were dumping small amounts of grey water from dished into the tank. At max the little black dish tub I had holds 2 gallons. Doing dishes 2 times a day and filling it half way with our drinking water that is 2 gallons poured into the grey water tank a day. By the last day the grey water had overflowed into the shower and we had to get jugs to empty some of the grey water into so we could leave site and get to a dump station. Considering no one had used the shower and that the toilet was off limits (no fresh water to fill before use) there is no way the grey water tank was even close to empty when we picked up.
My recommendation to future renters of this RV is to have everything turned on and tested before you pick up. Take pictures and recordings as proof. Stop at a dump station at the very beginning of your trip and make sure the tanks are adequate. I REALLY hate giving a bad review, but it was a huge investment and I do not feel I get what I paid for.

First time RVer, longer time camper here. Everything was perfect for our family of 4. Lots of storage, plenty of room and easy to drive. Luis had great communication too when we had questions. Lots of memories made. Thank you!

We rented this RV for an extended roadtrip across the West, and we had a ball! Luis was very responsive and patient with our many novice-RVer questions, and that alone gave us peace of mind throughout our journey. The RV is on the older side and has its quirks, but it performed well in all kinds of situations (high winds, thunderstorms, etc) and was quite comfortable for our family of three.

Pick up and drop off were easy, Luis explained everything we needed to know for a fun trip. Trailer is a little older, some wear and tear.

Luis was good to work with.
It was nice to have a place with AC during hot weather.
The trailer is older and of course has some quirks just like older trailers do.
It was easy to tow and there was plenty of room for our gear and food.
We enjoyed our trip.

Luis is extremely chill and easy to work with. I rented this RV as a first time RV driver and I had an excellent experience with my small found family. We drove out to the Oregon coast and stayed for a bit at a state park and the RV got us there and back with no fuss. Even as a first time RV driver, I was able to maneuver around just fine. Had some rainy weather along the way but shockingly, there were some blue skies at the campsite. Nice trip! :)

This RV rental experience was the best we could have asked for. Luis was extremely communicative, friendly, helpful, and patient with us first time RVers. He was available before and during the trip to answer the many questions we had. The RV itself is a gem, fully functional inside and out, with plenty of storage for the longer trip we took. She was up to the challenge of high elevation gains and various weather conditions along the way. We can’t recommend this rental enough, thanks again Luis!
