Flo is a total nostalgic cool breeze on a magic Santa Cruz beach day. We had. The best. Time! We drove up the 1 to Pescadero to sleep at Costanoa. The sound system has an iPhone Aux attachment and wireless charger and it sounded great for our reggae tunes. The van got looks and comments everywhere we went! You may want to keep the bed made because people WILL stop by and ask to look inside. She came equipped with super comfy bedding, beach towels, a water jug, beautiful wooden bowls, new pot and skillet, cutting board, a scrumptious woven throw. So vibey. There’s even a closet where I was able to hang about 8 dresses for a photo shoot we had planned at the beach. Having the pop top bed and two extra seatbelts in the back were perfect for my 7 year old. He thought the whole set up was “like, really cool, mom.” So, an obvious win. 🤙

I arrived to check out the van and they told me "The propane is a bit leaky so be careful", "The driver's seat can't be adjusted so you'll be jammed against the steering wheel the whole time", and "The hook ups don't work". She also told me ahead of time that her father is a VW mechanic and looks over the van before every rental. When I arrived to pick up the van they told me that he did not have a chance to look it over. This was after I drove 5 hours to Santa Cruz to pick up the van and I reserved RV hook up sites at KOA RV Parks which I communicated with them. The van was extremely difficult to drive. I can drive a modern Honda stick shift. They told me in messages through Outdoorsy that they would give me a refund because a lot of the problems with the van were not disclosed ahead of time and I had trouble driving it. The owners never ultimately issued the refund and Outdoorsy did nothing about it. Outdoorsy told me I need to reach out to the renters to get the refund and Outdoorsy will do nothing about it. Super shiesty. Lawyers will be getting involved and a dispute has been started through my bank. Please do not let Shevawn and Outdoorsy ruin your vacation like they did mine. Please rent from somewhere more legit with better accountability than Outdoorsy.

Aaron arrived 5 hours late for pick up. Critical to note, he confirmed multiple times he was able to drive manual transmission. When he arrived, he was unable to drive manual transmission. He stalled multiple times and was unable to get the car moving / in gear after multiple attempts. He appeared unaware of the damage he was doing/would do to the transmission therefore I was unable to release the vehicle. No rental took place. The van was currently serviced and has zero drivability issues!

My teenagers and I had an absolute blast on our California Road Trip with Shevawn's VW, "Flo". The rental process was easy and efficient. The van was in excellent shape and drove well. The beds, comfortable and the van was stocked with some items we couldn't bring such as towels, dishes and bedding. This van added so much to our trip, sparked conversations with other travelers and was easy to drive. It is a manual but it does not have a tricky clutch. It is simple and straightforward. Shevawn was always responsive if I had questions and the walk through by her partner covered everything we needed know. The beds were comfortable and everything worked as it should. The van has been outfitted with 2 chargers, an ox cord and phone holder for your phone while using gps. We drove the van up Route 1 through Big Sur and were rewarding with spectacular views, elelphant seals, and amazing memories. If you are looking for a van to rent, Flo will not disappoint. Santa Cruz ended up being one of our favorite spots at the end of our vacation as well. I have no hesitation in recommending Shevawn's Flo for anyone's roadtrip!

We had a great time exploring Santa Cruz and the Coast in "Flo!" This was my first experience using Outdoorsy, and the process could not have been easier. Shevawn was great at communicating with me before the trip, and pick up was super smooth! The vehicle was clean, had a full tank and was ready to roll:) Shevawn met me at the time we arranged, and was super friendly and helpful. Russell gave me a walk through of all of the features (and there are a ton), then a quick check ride to make sure I was comfortable with the manual transmission and away we went. We had no issues during the trip and enjoyed every adventure we took with "Flo." Returning the Westfalia was just as smooth, and we will do it again in the near future! I highly recommend Shevawn, Russell and Flo if you are headed to Santa Cruz and want a great experience!
