Hello, I'm Julie. I have lived in Alaska for approximately six years and am originally from the Midwest. My nursing career brought me to Alaska and at that time I was traveling and living partially in a van. I am quite familiar with van-life and am now passionate about providing van opportunities for others. I believe the best way to see Alaska is by traveling in a van, with the flexibility of stopping and sleeping whenever and wherever you desire. In my spare time, you can find me hiking, biking, paddling, fishing, birding, and camping all over Alaska. I'm happy to provide suggestions on itineraries and answers to any questions or concerns.

Excellent vehicle for the price and convenience while traveling in Alaska. Renting the van eases the complications when planning a multi day camping/hiking trip. No need to concern yourself with setting up a tent at the end of a long day or spending a lot of money each night on a lodge. The van is brand new and has a lot of great features including a small stove and fridge cooler. We recommend this to any couple or solo traveler coming to Alaska for adventure.

This was the best campervan to explore Alaska and Julie is the best connection to have in the 49th state. She was super responsive and helpful, and her van was the best. Don’t let size fool you, it was the perfect size to park anywhere and boondock it in a National Park. My husband and I spent a week in it, sleeping head to feet on the comfy mattress to maximize space. Julie thought of everything, the kitchen setup was great and she even had a little chargeable fan for white noise. We’re renting this campervan when we return to Alaska!

Julie is the best! There’s not enough stars! Super nice! Super knowledgeable! Super helpful! “The Mighty Ptarmigan” camping van she has made available is perfect for 1 person or a couple (as it is cozy)! It’s completely stocked with most everything you need except your food. It’s well maintained and clean. It gets great fuel mileage and is small enough for any parking space. Picking up and dropping off was easy. We messaged Julie and lined up our schedules and got it done! If you don’t want to rent a clumsy RV and you understand how to camp lite, “The Mighty Ptarmigan” is perfect! Julie was a pleasure to deal with. She is so nice and knowledgeable about the area. Her suggestions were our favorite part of our trip.
The van was fully equipped with EVERYTHING needed for camping. There was not a thing to worry about. We were able to hit the road without a care. She took care of it all. Can’t say enough good things about Julie and the van. Would definitely rent again.

Julie was super to work with! She answered all of our questions timely and was super friendly. The gas mileage on this unit was incredible, definitely cozy inside but worked perfectly for the two of us. Very very happy!!
