Aloha! I've been an avid 4x4 driver and camper for most of my life. I've spent years researching and driving different off road vehicles that are the best for camping. After tons of research and experience, I finally came across the 7.3 diesel Ford Excursion. It's been so much fun testing it out and building it to be the ultimate adventuremobile. I'm super easy going and I love to explore and share what I find.

We loved staying in Mitch’s van, it has everything you need to camp comfortably on the big island. Mitch is great to deal with and goes above and behind to help out! Highly recommend

Burt is old……. and AWESOME - runs like a champ. If you’re ok driving a very large SUV and want a top notch adventure then I’d highly recommend renting this dinosaur. Mitchell was very attentive and helpful and genuinely wants you to enjoy your trip. The Excursion also has been very well maintained.
I’d also recommend camping at Ho’okena Beach Park as part of your trip as camping on the Big Island can be challenging. As a bonus Burt gets impressive mileage considering its size and weight- over 15 MPG!

Aloha! We spent a week travelling all the way around big island in Mitchell’s vehicle, along with another couple in a second vehicle. The vehicle was perfect for this trip with plenty of space, a large fridge which proved invaluable, and a comfortable bed. Mitchell was a great host with very flexible pick-up/drop-off times, and was always quick to respond to any questions. Would 100% recommend choosing this vehicle, Mahalo Mitchell for a great trip!

Great little van! It is well stocked and allowed us to camp anywhere. The bed is comfy but a little small for two people if you don’t like to snuggle. Would definitely rent again.

Awesome experiencing renting from Mitchell! Burt was a beast. Mitchell briefed us well before going on our road / camping trip, so we felt prepared and safe to drive the 1500 lb truck. The truck is in great shape given how old it is. We felt we could take on most roads, but we didnt push it (although we felt Burt could handle it all). We definitely got a few envious looks from fellow campers. 10/10 would rent again.

We had a great time on our trip to the Big Island, and Mitchell’s van really made our trip extra easy! It has all the amenities you need for a successful stealthy camp out, it is comfortable to drive, and even gets good gas mileage. Two thumbs up, I would certainly recommend this van to anyone who wants to cruise around the island in comfort. Great value!

Mitch and Burt (the truck) were great, we couldn't have had the same experience without them. Mitch was flexible, supportive, and communicative. The truck was perfect and gave us access to places few other vehicles could. The truck is also a great conversation starter and gives the impression the person driving it is local, which was a great unexpected benefit. We're already planning our next trip back and I'll be booking with Mitch again.

It was a fantastic experience going around the big island with this truck. We booked camp sites with HipCamp, and a few place had short but relatively rough path to the location. The truck has high clearance and had no issues at all. The inside was spacious for two to comfortably sleep with most luggage inside. The gear was well-thought out and clean. The host was super friendly, welcoming and easy communicate with. Highly recommend overall.

We had a great trip in Burt and felt like locals travelling around the island. Mitchell was a great host and provided us with more than was necessary for our trip. I had a few issues with communicating through the Outdoorsy platform, but that was more an issue with Outdoorsy than with Mitchell. Will definitely recommend to travel around the island in Mithcell's truck.
