About Mitchell Jensen's RV rentals
Aloha! I've been an avid 4x4 driver and camper for most of my life. I've spent years researching and driving different off road vehicles that are the best for camping. After tons of research and experience, I finally came across the 7.3 diesel Ford Excursion. It's been so much fun testing it out and building it to be the ultimate adventuremobile. I'm super easy going and I love to explore and share what I find.

Burt is old……. and AWESOME - runs like a champ. If you’re ok driving a very large SUV and want a top notch adventure then I’d highly recommend renting this dinosaur. Mitchell was very attentive and helpful and genuinely wants you to enjoy your trip. The Excursion also has been very well maintained.
I’d also recommend camping at Ho’okena Beach Park as part of your trip as camping on the Big Island can be challenging. As a bonus Burt gets impressive mileage considering its size and weight- over 15 MPG!

Awesome experiencing renting from Mitchell! Burt was a beast. Mitchell briefed us well before going on our road / camping trip, so we felt prepared and safe to drive the 1500 lb truck. The truck is in great shape given how old it is. We felt we could take on most roads, but we didnt push it (although we felt Burt could handle it all). We definitely got a few envious looks from fellow campers. 10/10 would rent again.

Mitch and Burt (the truck) were great, we couldn't have had the same experience without them. Mitch was flexible, supportive, and communicative. The truck was perfect and gave us access to places few other vehicles could. The truck is also a great conversation starter and gives the impression the person driving it is local, which was a great unexpected benefit. We're already planning our next trip back and I'll be booking with Mitch again.

Driving Burt was a blast! The tent setup was quick and easy. Would recommend renting from Mitch!

It was a fantastic experience going around the big island with this truck. We booked camp sites with HipCamp, and a few place had short but relatively rough path to the location. The truck has high clearance and had no issues at all. The inside was spacious for two to comfortably sleep with most luggage inside. The gear was well-thought out and clean. The host was super friendly, welcoming and easy communicate with. Highly recommend overall.

We had a great trip in Burt and felt like locals travelling around the island. Mitchell was a great host and provided us with more than was necessary for our trip. I had a few issues with communicating through the Outdoorsy platform, but that was more an issue with Outdoorsy than with Mitchell. Will definitely recommend to travel around the island in Mithcell's truck.

My wife and I really enjoyed Burt and thought it was a great way to tour the Big Island. Burt gave us the flexibility to go where we wanted to go and see what we wanted to see. Mitchell was awesome to work with and made the renting experience easy and fun! I would highly recommend renting Burt for your next Big Island adventure.

Thanks Mitchell ! The truck was well equiped with all the gear for our camping night, and it’s we have a lot of place in the back to sleep and having all our stuff to visit the beautifull Big island

My partner and I had a wonderful time camping with the gear Mitch included with the rental. We will miss Burt! We are leaving Big Island feeling inspired & very satisfied with our stay. Would highly recommend! :)

We could've not had such an amazing trip without Burt. Mitchell was very communicative, flexible, and helpful. He told us a cool camping spot where only locals know (the off road was very adventurous) and we loved that. big enough to sleep in back for two, Burt was really reliable. stargazing, sunsnt, sunrise, &picnic.. did everything with Burt.. Mahalo a lot, Mitch!

Mitchell is easy going and supportive if you have any questions or encounter challenges. The walk through during car pick up was very clear.

The BURT got us everywhere we wanted to go in comfort and style. The owner was exceptionally accommodating and responsive, with great flexibility in pickup and drop off. This truck is surprisingly good on gas as well.

BURT! If you have any plans to enjoy or explore the Big Island outside the box of resorts and highways then BURT is the way to go. We are a family of 5 and we cant's thank Mitchell and his BURT enough for the hospitality. We had our 3 girls sleep in the back each night on a full size queen air mattress while my wife and I slept in the super nice, quick, and easy to set up tent provided by Mitchell. You'll see I gave BURT 4 starts on mechanical and that's only because if 5 stars is perfect then let's just say BURT is close for a vehicle like this but quite. We rented the kitchen box and some other items from Mitchell so we didn't have to fly them over from Oahu and everything was better than we had hoped. We had a fantastic time camping all over the island and in places we couldn't have without BURT. Mahalo Nui Loa Mitchell and BURT!
