Everything was great with our trip until checkout. The communication, drop off, and stay were wonderful. The camper is great for a weekend trip with a small family. The problem was, Joe sent me a message stating the areas of damage on the camper and said to note anything else before I started my stay. I did a quick walkthrough of the camper and didn’t notice anything major but decided to take some before videos and pictures just in case. While doing the walkthrough I did notice that the microwave was slightly turned in but it did not look broken so I figured it just shifted en route or something. Joe picked up the camper and not long after I got a notification stating that $250 was taken from my security deposit because the frame around the microwave was broken and the microwave was “messed with”. I called Joe to explain that we were rarely in the camper except to sleep (on one bed) and that we didn’t even touch the stove or microwave and he immediately was defensive and said that it wasn’t like that when he dropped it off and that he doesn’t charge a lot for the camper and it’s getting so beat up, so when damage is done he has to charge for it. Mind you I payed over $600 for a three night stay plus the cost of the site. I can stay at a very nice hotel for what I payed to camp in rural Michigan. He wasn’t willing to budge until I said I would just send the time stamped before photos to outdoorsy from the start of my stay to prove the microwave was already like that. He asked me to send him the photos, told me I should have noted it with him upon my arrival, and the next day refunded the security deposit. Just be careful and make sure you take plenty of before and after photos so you don’t end up in a scenario where you’re charged for damage you didn’t do.

The trailer is alright for a small family and has reasonable space and amenities. However without electricity the battery is pretty weak and drains very quickly even after a full charge before, making something as necessary as operating the slideout and lights a challenge.
