If you’re looking for a van that truly has everything you need to have a great trip without constantly hooking up to shore power, refilling and emptying your tanks, going to different campsites for showers, James’ van is the perfect rig. I love the fact that you have the option to be off-grid for a good amount of time and not have the anxiety of losing power or water. We took a quick coastal trip from Bodega Bay to Mendocino then back to Sac and El Capitan handled the curvy, rainy roads of Highway 1 and snowy/icy mountain roads of Highway 20 like a dream. Powerful when you needed it to be, while smooth enough to be comfortable. The van sure is beautiful too! I found myself admiring it every time I walked back to it while parked.

Best experience!!! The host, James, excels in communications, walking you through things that you don’t know. This van is stocked! Bring your towels and personal items but other than that, this van has it. We took it to a remote bike race and we were off grid for over a week without a problem!

James made pickup and drop off super convenient and was responsive throughout the whole process. The van was great! Very well taken care of. My boyfriend is 6’1, so he couldn’t quite stand up or fit in the bed but it was no big deal once he got used to it. Now that we’re home we actually miss the van bed. We also really loved the awning and fold down table for cooking outside. Our trip to Yosemite, the coast and wine country was seamless and cozy!

We had a great time and a wonderful overall experience with both the van and through James. The training he offers is quick and simple. Van was clean and comfortable even as the weather tried to make us hunker down from time to time. James was very accommodating. We are planning our next adventure and James will be our first go to host. Can't give enough props.

James is an excellent host, responding quickly to any questions we had and thoughtfully equipping his van. Quality of provided amenities was TOP NOTCH, and he provided everything we needed. He even provided a dog tie out cable that we used so our dogs had more freedom around the campsites! It is clear that James cares for his van - both in cleanliness and operation. Highly recommend!

We were amazed at how well organized this vehicle is! They designed it with a lot of attention to detail, and it was really easy to live in it. It drives well so we had no problem maneuvering through camping areas and the water tank and batteries made it a breeze to find overnight spots pretty much anywhere.
James obviously takes great care of the vehicle, we had no problems whatsoever. I recommend watching his video--it really helps you take full advantage of all the features. Also, the flexibility on the pickup/dropoff times really made it easy to start and end the trip.
Highly recommended!

What an incredible rental, this vehicle and experience far surpassed our expectations. My girlfriend and I took our first trip in a camper van like this and it was a total hit. The Storyteller Overland has absolutely everything we needed for our weeklong journey up the coast. It was comfortable to sleep in, we cooked two meals a day in it, used the shower, and were quite comfy. We brought our bikes with us and put them on the exterior bike racks and it was very easy. James has this rig outfitted with everything you would possibly need for a trip. Having the starlink onboard was a huge hit as we would work from anywhere along our journey.

Has a great trip and James was a great host. He had the van well stocked with anything you may need and more! Very quick to respond when messaging him with questions throughout our trip. His walk-through video on youtube was super helpful pre-trip and during. Highly recommended!
