About Julie's RV rentals

Hi there! We’re the Dunlaps (AKA Funlaps!)—an adventurous Alaskan family who loves camping, fishing, and exploring the outdoors whenever we can. When we’re not busy with our day jobs or chasing after our two small kiddos, you’ll find us out making the most of Alaska’s wild beauty. We started renting out our three campervans to help others experience the same kind of fun and freedom we enjoy. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or an epic road trip, we’re here to help make it unforgettable. We love sharing our favorite routes, campsites, and hidden gems—so if you need tips or recommendations, or have general questions about traveling to/through Alaska, just ask! We had a great trip and the van had everything we needed! Julie was also very kind to stay up late to meet us when our flight was delayed. Would definitely recommend them to others.

It was exactly as described and had everything we needed. It was very comfortable and got great gas mileage. Julie and Zach were wonderful to work with and flexible with our pick up and return. They were extremely prompt with answering any questions we had. We had an amazing vacation and loved exploring Alaska!!

The RV was great. We really enjoyed it. It was clean, spacious and perfect for our Alaska trip. Plus the window shades really came in handy. Our host was friendly, helpful and responsive. Would highly recommend!

Julie was the BEST. Absolutely went above and beyond to make it an easy trip for us. She was extremely accessible and answered so many questions. The van was a great fit for our family of four. It’s very well equipped with all the essentials and ran great. We used it for a long weekend in Homer at an RV park and it was ideal. We cooked the whole weekend and found everything we needed in the kitchen gear. The provided towels, linens, and blankets made packing much easier. Would totally recommend renting from Julie!

Julie was a great host! She and her husband were very easy to work with and very laid-back about the process. They have everything in the van that you would need for an enjoyable time other than your own toileteries, clothes and food. They made this first experience in a camper van a very enjoyable one.

We took the Vanimal up to Denali National Park. We camped in May and were super cozy with heat and all of the van amenities. The van design worked well for our family of four. Julie and Zach were amazing hosts and outfitted us with all the Alaska essentials for our trip.

As a former Alaskan resident returning for the first time in 5 years, I can confidently say this is one of the best ways to experience Alaska! We truly enjoyed our temporary home on wheels and the flexibility vanimal provided for us to go wherever we wanted to explore this great state. Thank you to Julie for the great experience!

We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Alaska and the van was the perfect way to experience it all. The van was clean, fun to use and was outfitted with all of the amenities that we could need for our trip. Additionally, Julie and Zach were both amazing hosts. It was so easy to communicate with them and they were very accommodating to our schedule, even when we had unforeseen travel delays. My wife and I both highly recommend the van and these two amazing hosts! If we make a return trip to Alaska, we would love to work with them again.

Julie and Zack went above and beyond helping accommodate my strange schedule. The camper had everything you could need and more! New pots, pans, dishes and silverware. A propane stove and an induction stove. All cleaning supplies. They literally thought of everything I could need. It was a wonderful vacation, thanks in large to the efforts of Zack and Julie!

Pickup was a breeze and Julie made sure to give us all the information we needed before we left for Homer. When we had questions on the trip, Julie responded quickly to help us out. Drop off was even easier. We had an amazing time and are so thankful we got to use VanGogh! Easy to drive if you’ve ever driven a truck before. Very comfortable to sleep in and had everything we could possibly need!
