Über Nordic Nomad

Hi! I'm Kirsten. Born in Norway and raised between Southern California and Central Minnesota, I've always found joy in the outdoors—from body surfing in the Pacific to swimming in Minnesota's cold lakes. As a single mom of five, I learned that life's greatest adventures are often the ones you create. At 46, I started over, earning my college and graduate degrees, serving as Mayor of North Branch, becoming a Bush Fellow, and now leading the Minnesota Center for Employee Ownership. When I'm not working, you'll find me exploring with my husband, Mark, and our adventure-loving dog, Loki. We love RVing, camping, hiking, paddling, reading, playing games, visiting local coffee shops and breweries, and finding places where the stars are bright and cell service disappears. Nordic Nomad is our Scandinavian-inspired cabin on wheels. We hope it gives you the chance to slow down, reconnect with nature and the people you love, creating memories that last a lifetime.
