Exceptionally disappointing experience renting RV from Trailhead. I should’ve paid closer attention to other reviews here. For starters, the listing claims their RV is “Brand New”. After renting one, I found that description to be woefully misleading in my opinion for the following reasons:

My trip was fantastic! I was so close to giving 5 stars. To save you time reading, my main reason for 4 is because I had to use their bike rack when I stated that I had my own and I would still pay them the bike rack fee. That didn’t seem fair to me as their bike rack is arm-style and mine is platform style, which carries my bikes well. The arm style is not a good style of rack and it made me unable to bring my favorite bike on my trip. If that doesn’t matter to you, the 5 stars. Their rules and pick-up and drop-off times are strict, with little to no wiggle room. Can’t ding them for sticking to their guns, but good to know for you future renters.
Their communication was excellent. Anything I needed or was curious about (this was my first RV trip) they answered within seconds, literally. I messaged through the Outdoorsy app and they responded promptly. Next, I accidentally broke the glass stovetop in the RV. They thanked me for letting them know and moved on. They are very professional.
I would rent from them again, but the bike rack thing will have me looking at independent renters first.

Easily top 5 family vacations traveling Teton and Yellowstone Parks! After having three other bookings cancelled on us, we decided to use Trailhead as they are an actual RV rental company. A little pricier than some of the others, but the peace of mind and professionalism were well worth it. Got a very comprehensive overview of the RV at pickup and drop off was super easy as well. Everyone we worked with was professional and kind. Vehicle worked great and no issues with any of the features. Thank you for a memorable vacation!

The RV was great! It had enough room for 2 adults, 1 child, and a dog. Easy to drive, set up camp, etc. The space is small but efficient. The size is good for navigating regular roads, parks, etc. The generator runs off of propane, and goes quickly if using the AC. A full tank only lasted us 4 days with using the generator 3ish hours a day which left us in a tough spot in remote areas. Make sure to keep an eye on that. Communication could have been better - I wanted a direct contact with the host, but they only communicated through the platform and redirected me to tech support when trying to call to figure out how to switch over to gas on the generator. Switching to gas on the generator doesn't work either. It stops after about 15 minutes.

We’ve always had a great experience booking on Outdoorsy and using Trailhead RVs! The listing perfectly describes what you get. They are easy to work with and offer a great service! We’ll definitely rent again!

Our time away was perfect and this RV was so comfortable, clean and made our vacation great. The team at Trailhead was so helpful and knowledgeable. We will certainly be renting from them again.

We chose to rent an RV for a family trip instead of flying because we have two medically fragile children who are unable to travel by air. The booking process was incredibly easy and gave us a great first impression.

Great experience renting from Trailhead! The 2026 Voyager 27 was brand new, clean, and had everything we needed for a 4th of July trip to Guernsey, WY. Pickup and drop-off were smooth and straightforward. Would definitely rent from them again.

Pickup was difficult as the host left a pickup location pin in an empty field across the highway from the actual pickup point. We were also charged $150 for a minor scuff that I don’t believe we even left. Make sure you take photos when you drop off the vehicle instead of selecting the “no damage to vehicle” option.

We don’t provide pins to our location, so this is an inaccurate review. The address is disclosed through the booking process, it is reiterated on your rental contract, and can be requested from us at any time. It’s a physical address and not a pin.
