Mixed communication and preparation

Guests praise quick, attentive responses but one reported no in-trip help for a non-working cooler. Issues also noted with clarity on stove fuel provision and insufficient cleaning of dishes/blankets between rentals.

Comprehensive rooftop camping setup

The Highlander offers a comfortable rooftop tent, fridge, stove, and cooking essentials for self-sufficiency. However, one trip had a non-functional cooler and unclean dishes upon pickup, with cleaning issues between rentals.

This was my first time renting with Outdoorsy. The experience was absolutly terrific. Communicatiion from the host was accurate and attentive, responding within a few minutes. This is vital if there are any questions or issues when you're on a trip. Everything one needs on a camping trip was provided and neatly laid out. All I needed was food and fuel along the way. When you're on an adventure through Alaska the last thing you need is issues with is your rental. My host handled everything and made my first experience with Outdoorsy the most pleasant. I'll be renting with Artem and the Outdoorsy team when I return.

Communication was quite spotty at times. The battery and fridge provided would not work or charge, which the host should have ensured prior to pickup. The car itself is in rough condition. Warning lights for seat belts and airbags never went off. Half the interior of the trunk and inner rear bumper are missing. The tires were low, so much so I got a warning when the weather turned colder. The tent itself was extremely moldy and looked like it has never been cleaned. Dishware was disgusting and had to be scrubbed heavily before use. I brought my own bedding thankfully and after seeing the state of everything else I am so glad I did. I doubt any of it has been cleaned between guests. It seemed like a great idea, but the execution was disappointing and subpar. Don't waste your money, rent elsewhere.

Artem has a great setup. The tent was very comfortable and I really enjoyed it. However, communication was a challenge. The cooler was not set up properly and I was unable to get it to work, but received no response from Artem during the trip. It was also not clear to me that fuel for the stove would not be provided. Additionally, there was no cleaning between trips. The next people showed up to pick up the vehicle before I had even left and it wasn't until a bit later that someone came to switch out the sheets. There was no cleaning the blankets, dishes (which were not especially clean when I picked it up) or anything else between rentals.

Our Alaskan adventure was amazing. Having a rooftop tent was an amazing experience and really let us enjoy nature to the fullest. Our vehicle was fully packed with all the necessary items for being self sufficient out in the back country. Having a fridge, ice, stove, chairs, and cooking utensils really felt like we had a moving apartment we could park anywhere. The rooftop tent kept us dry and warm despite multiple days of rain. The Kenai peninsula was one of the most magical places I’ve ever been and we will absolutely be back. We plan to use Artem again and again!
