Kenneth and Cory were very responsive to our pickup and drop-off needs. When we requested a specific time, they made it happen. Cory picked us up from the airport and brought us to the handoff location. They even answered our generator questions via FaceTime and ensured we felt heard and accommodated throughout the rental. I would absolutely rent from them again, and I hear they have multiple RVs to choose from.

Absolutely terrible experience with Ken, the owner of Ma's Way Rental. We rented the 2016 Minne Winnie from him and the pictures he provides on Outdoorsy do not accurately depict the actual RV we received. The most noticeable was the big scrape down the outside of the RV, the inside is in notably worse condition, and the decor is completely different. The RV we received had flaking couches and seats, had dirty seat covers, and poor repairs. The RV was far from clean. There was urine and pubic hair in the toilet, crumbs on the table, counter, and floor, used foam ear plugs, and wrappers from candy inside the RV when we picked it up. We addressed this with him at pick up and he said it was the one he had listed. We showed him pictures of his listing and he told us he just mixed up the pictures and did not know that he had done this. He told us he was currently renting 14 different RV's and likely mixed up the pictures. Upon reading the reviews (which I couldn't see until after I booked), I noticed another renter had also mentioned this in their review of him, so Ken was very much aware of this. I had not read the review until we had already taken the camper because I did not know they were available to me after booking. At this point, all of our campgrounds and activities were booked for our Alaskan adventure and we were relying on this camper for both our transportation and accommodations and did not have the additional money to wait for a refund from Outdoorsy and book another camper or risk not being able to attend our other activities we had already paid for. At pick up, the propane tank was 1/3 full, the fresh water tank was empty, and the grey and black waters were full. Ken offered airport pick up which we assumed the camper would be ready for us upon arrival. Instead, after a 5.5 hour flight and an additional 1.5 hour drive and two hour airport wait prior to that, we had to drive around Anchorage with Ken to a dump station to take care of this and then drive him back to his office or home. This took over an hour and our kids were very hungry (the flight only served snacks, not meals). We mentioned this to him several times and this certainly added to all of our agitation. Ken also did not wear gloves nor wash his hands after emptying the gray and black water tanks. He simply wiped them on his pants and got back in the camper. This made us worrisome about the actual cleanliness of the fresh water tank so we did not use this feature. Ken told us he had paperwork for us to sign when we arrived, but after returning him to his lot, he told us we no longer needed to fill it out. Of course this was after we expressed concern to Ken that the camper was not the one we thought we were renting. We paid $60 to fill the propane tank during our trip. The listing said six seatbelts were available. Upon pick up, the seat belts were nowhere to be found. Alaska requires anyone traveling in an RV to be wearing a seat belt. We did find them in the storage under the seats. We felt these should have been out and ready for use at pick up. We requested a few items to rent along with the RV (chairs, extra bedding, towels, etc.), but did not receive some of the items requested. He provides a "catalog" of extra things you can rent from him. The pictures showed nice camping chairs to rent for $15 each. What we received were the $10 camp chairs from wal-mart with burn holes in them and some we were afraid to sit in as they had been overused and wobbly. The listing noted it included three sets of linens for the beds. However, we were later told it came with two. We requested an extra set of linens for the bed and did not receive a comforter, so we had to purchase additional blankets. The towels smelled like dirty feet and we ended up stopping at a laundromat to wash them. We did not receive the coffee maker we requested at all. We also requested we have 5 sets of dishes...he included 4 big plates, 4 small plates, 4 forks, 4 spoons, 2 knives, 2 bowls, and 2 cups. No utensils to cook on the grill were included. When we noted the missing comforter, he said he would reimburse us for purchasing one. This also did not happen. The door from the RV to outside did not stay closed unless locked and the shower head leaked the entire time wasting fresh water. I contacted Ken about a partial refund due to the misrepresentation and he agreed to this, but made a comment about needing to subtract generator and mileage overage per a contract he never had us sign. Two days into our trip, Ken contacted us through Outdoorsy where he told us the Wasilla police contacted him about an incident in the Wal-Mart parking lot. We had not been to Wasilla at all. He later recanted stating this was an error and had been another RV he was renting. Also on the third day, we noticed the engine was smelling hot. We looked at the maintenance log and realized the RV was past due for an oil change by 500 miles when we received the RV. We did check the oil and it seemed to be okay. We were told we would be doing a walkthrough with one of his employees at drop off, but no walk through was completed. The "employee" had no idea what was happening and appeared to have looked like he just rolled out of bed. Ken messaged me the next day to tell me that when he checked the camper, the gas tank had not been filled all the way. However, the gas mileage on his reading was higher than the picture of the reading we took right before we shut it off upon return. When we mentioned we had to fill the propane tank and returned it at a minimum of 2/3 full which was above what we received it, he recanted his request to be paid the $30 for gas. I contacted Ken about our refund and he said he would contact Outdoorsy. He did contact them, however he refused to authorize Outdoorsy to take funds from his bank and insisted I allow him to send the money via Zelle, CashApp, or Venmo. I was not comfortable with that and told him that. This is also against Outdoorsy policy. When I told him this, he sent me a screenshot stating he had sent the refund (to my maiden name) which is not the account I have on Outdoorsy. I contacted Outdoorsy to see if he had indeed sent a refund. Outdoorsy told me he had not. He has now ghosted me. We are making a police report to the Anchorage Police for fraud and false advertising and have commenced a dispute with Outdoorsy. The only positive was that the RV did not encounter major mechanical issues. We were severely disappointed in renting from Ken. The last thing we wanted to worry about was the logistics of bedding or cleaning the camper upon arrival. Instead, we were met with additional stress, a scammy host, and now taking legal action. Extremely disappointed the camper did not match his Outdoorsy listing or his listing on his website for his RV Company. 2016 Minnie Winnie – Ma's RV Rental – Anchorage, Alaska. In fact, only one of the campers shown in his Outdoorsy listing represents a picture of a 2016 Minne Winne he has on his company website which still does not match the camper we received.

Hello, My name is Ken and it is a pleasure that you are considering renting my RV. It is a Recreational Vehicle that comes with completely stocked and most items you will need while out. It comes with bed linens, towels, dinner ware, full of fuels and fresh water. We are located about 5 minutes from the airport and can pick up/drop off if needed. Nothing like the great outdoors!!!!
