Freebird is a beautiful and clean Winnebago Solis, big enough for the whole family but small enough to take anywhere, whether it's a big city or off the grid. She is easy to drive, fits in a normal parking spot, has everything you need and nothing you don't!When we were looking at vans, we couldn't find anything big enough to comfortably fit our family of 6 and was still efficient enough to make epic road trips — so here we are with a van that can meet all of your needs! She has an iconic pop top, with an XL full bed in it, the back sofa (with two seatbelts) folds down into an RV queen bed and we have a removable bunkbed over the cab seats that sleeps two kids.We recently bought the van new, but also customized and upgraded her to make sure she is comfortable and classy. Freebird is totally capable of boondocking with a sink, a propane heater & 2 burner stove, and a refrigerator that runs off of solar. The bathroom has a cassette toilette and shower, or you can hook up the privacy screen and have an outdoor shower behind the rig (our favorite place to clean off the kids or dog!). We have also added an AC unit that works when you are plugged into shore power.Our van comes fully stocked with everything you need from tableware to bedding, so after a quick stop for groceries you are ready for the wilderness. How well does the solar power work?

If you are in full sun, you can run the fridge, lights, and USB plugs all day. If you are in partial sun, you may need to be a bit careful about cranking up all the lights at night. Also, driving the van (or just running the engine) charges the batteries quite quickly. Note that the A/C cannot run on solar power alone.

Does the van come with ______? How do you operate ______?

We provide a super detailed digital guidebook to guests - we put a ton of work into it and our guests really appreciate it. It will almost certainly answer your questions, but feel free to get in touch ahead of time if you want to start asking now.

How long is the van?

It's 19 feet long - fits in a normal parking spot and definitely in a campsite or RV site! (But it is 10 feet high - watch out above!)

What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?

We are very flexible on pick-up and drop-off times as long as we can plan a couple days ahead of time and the sun is up!

We are a family of six who tries to spend as much time as possible exploring the wonders of the outdoors. Our four children are aged 3 to 9; the youngest has Down syndrome. Outdoor adventuring and road-tripping with a special needs child is a lot easier for us because of our van's comfort and consistency. Renting it out enables us to do all this!
