Inconsistent preparation and communication
Initially unresponsive at pickup, with one RV lacking cleanliness, essential kitchenware, and having multiple maintenance issues. Many guests found him responsive during their trip and flexible with schedules.
Easy to maneuver and navigate
Praised as a perfect size (24') for easy navigation and accommodating. However, one rental lacked cleanliness, had non-functioning appliances (refrigerators), several broken features, and missing basic kitchen and comfort essentials.

1.0Hello. I am Olivier Robillard. My step father, Ricardo Benedicto, recently wrote to you regarding a bad experience with an RV rental. Here is my experience. The gray water valve was stuck in the open position, making it impossible to close during the journey, which prevented the rinsing of black water residue from the wastewater discharge hose at the dumping stations. The leveling stabilizers were out of service. The dishes were very dirty. The unfortunate thing is that the owner didn't seem to take it seriously; he made us waste a huge amount of time. It all gave me the impression that he does this solely for the money, without caring about the quality of the service he provides. Here is what my father-in-law, Ricardo Benedicto, wrote to you. I am sharing it with you because I went through the exact same situation. Instead of giving a BAD review to our host, I prefer to write to you guys so you might discuss the issues with him directly. This way, proper corrections can be made for the future, and business will continue to be good for Yang as well as for Outdoorsy. We were two families flying from Montreal. My wife and I, in one motorhome, and my stepson with his wife and three kids in the second motorhome. First thing, upon arrival, I texted Yang a few times without any answers, even though he was notified weeks in advance of our time of landing at the airport. We rang his bell a few times at his home, and he finally showed up at his door. Now, for the equipment, here are the points that need to be corrected: First and most important: the refrigerators were not working on LP (liquid propane). THIS IS A MAJOR inconvenient!!! How do you keep the food cold on the road??? Also, given the high turnout this year with Canada Parc, it was impossible to rent a campsite with services. Anyway, the point of renting an RV was also to be able to be completely autonomous. We had to find a way to convert the refrigerator into “coolers” by supplying them with ice every one to two days!!! The other option that Yang offered was to cancel the RV rentals. Can you imagine??? WTF!!! Paid a flight to Calgary, paid camp sites in advance, paid Booking in Calgary for the last two days of our stay in Calgary!!! Seriously? The flight landed at 6:00 PM, and we were at Yang’s at 7:00 PM. Yang also offered to have his “technician” to take a look at the refrigerators, but this would have been a major delay for getting to our first camping in Canmore. And without guaranteeing that it would be repaired. Imaging leaving Yang’s home at 8:30 PM, after dealing with him to get a partial refund and supplying partly what was missing, then going to the grocery to get food (a remainder that we had kids), and getting to our first destination. It was 10:45 PM (MDT) when we arrived. So around 1:00 AM Eastern time!!! Regarding these refrigerator issues, it should be noted that Yang paid fair compensation to both of our families. Now let’s review the next points: • No can opener. This is BASIC stuff on camping!! We bought one at 4$ that we left in our RV;No spatula. This is also BASIC camping stuff!!No coffee mugs! Good thing that we had brought our Costco coffee mugs. The coffee maker was not adapted to camping. A Keuring coffee maker is not adapted for camping! No large cooking pot. BASIC camping stuff. I had to request one.No mixing bowl. BASIC also.No dish towels. I had to request them, and he gave us something that was closer to scouring cloth. No broom and dustpan. I want to add that the RV of my stepson was missing more basic items and dishes were dirty. That RV was not well prepared by the host. Also missing sheets, not enough towels, missing pots, and no toaster. My stepdaughter had to request them (still no toaster). So, the RV listing, on Outdoorsy, describes a “ Fully supplied kitchen”. From your point of view, is this a “Fully supplied kitchen”???. My eye!! These issues were also brought up to Yang, who had a tendency of trying to justify them, as he was not renting a hotel! Hey man! Do you expect us to bring those items on a flight? Do you expect us to buy these items to take them back to Montreal??? To complete the picture, here are some other points: • Toilet: Cannot fill the bowl before flushing. The lever was missing. For my stepson, the water supply pipe started leaking during the trip. My stepson managed to fix it.The awning was deactivated on my RV despite the fact that the description on Outdoorsy mentioned it was provided. I had to reactivate it myself with Yang’s permission. BTW, both grids are broken in the kitchen area, the one below the fridge and the other one below the cook stove. This was not the first time that I rented an RV. The first two times (2009 and 2017), It was done through dealers at a much lower price, with a real fully equipped kitchen, clean dishes and a fully working refrigerator/freezer and equipment. Again, I think that it was better to address these issues to you people instead of publishing them on Yang’s adds. To tell the truth, I don’t think that Outdoorsy would have allowed it anyway because it is not good for your business either, since you derive a good income from it too. If you truly value your "members," I expect Outdoorsy to take action against irresponsible individuals and ensure the platform's reliability. I’m also expecting your comments about this letter. Regards! "This is what Ricardo Benedicto wrote to you, and I am adding these other points Thank you. Olivier Robillard 5144344073

5.0It was a perfect size for 4 travelers hiking through the Canadian Rockies. The host was very responsive and adjusted his schedule to fit our delayed travel times. I will be renting again when I return for a trip to Jasper by itself!

5.0The RV had everything we needed and more for the trip to Banff and Jasper. The host was very responsive whenever we contacted him. Would definitely recommend and would book again if we do a similar trip in the area.
