Below are a few essential guidelines to help you have a smooth, safe trip—and to keep our van in top condition for everyone who hits the road after you. These best practices come from real-world experience and are designed to prevent avoidable issues, reduce stress, and ensure your vanlife journey is everything you want it to be. ⸻ Do: • Drive safely and follow all traffic laws • Use only paved roads or designated 2WD-accessible campgrounds • Downshift on steep descents (use manual mode) to protect the brakes • Use the parking brake when boondocking or parked overnight • Always release the parking brake before shifting into Drive • Watch our pre-trip video guide for system walkthroughs and pro tips • Remove the dry flush toilet from the shower before using it • Conserve water—your tank holds 40 gallons • Return the van with a full tank of fuel • Empty all trash, food, the used dry flush cartridge, and grey water tank before returning (*ignore if purchasing the drop off waiver!) • Reach out with any questions—we’re here to help • Enjoy our sample itineraries, and ask about our concierge trip planning service (available as an add-on) ⸻ Don’t: • No smoking in or near the van • Don’t drive with the parking brake engaged • Don’t drive off-road, on rough dirt roads, or into deep snow, sand, or mud • Avoid terrain that requires high clearance • Don’t force or tamper with systems you’re unfamiliar with • Don’t use household appliances in the inverter • Don’t overfill the water tank or force-fill caps ⸻ We take pride in delivering a clean, road-ready, and thoughtfully stocked van.
