Our vans are great on the highway in the 60-75mph range. Please do respect the speed limit and do not follow too closely behind vehicles. If you're driving a van over 9 ft, you’ll notice it handles differently than your car and taller vehicles tip easier than lower ones. Avoid fast maneuvers, sharp turns, driving fast on washboard roads & hard stops. Our taller vans are almost 7 ft in width and 18 ft in length. Please be careful when making turns so that you don't scrape the sides of the vehicle (TAKE WIDE TURNS). When driving downhill, you will notice the vans will automatically downshift to help relieve usage of the brakes. As stated in our terms of service, no off-roading is permitted (if you do venture onto something slightly sketch, note that the van is front wheel drive). Driving down gravel roads (often with lots of potholes) to a cool campsite is fine, please just take it slow & let other vehicles that want to fly by pass you! Avoid the temptation to drive on the beach & in any loose sand or gravel. Our vans are non-smoking vehicles. Please do not smoke inside the vehicles as the smell lingers within the seats and bedding. We will charge a $125 fee if the smell persists after cleaning and disinfecting the van. Please return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as was received. Any refueling costs will incur a $9 per gallon fee. We do not authorize the use of our vehicles to Burning Man or Black Rock Desert. If we find that our van was involved in Burning Man or Black Rock Desert, you automatically forfeit your security deposit, are subjected to a separate fee of $10,000, and will be unable to rent a van from us in the future. Any charges or deductible amount collected due to damages or repairs, will incur a processing fee of 4%.
