EmpfehlungenWe recommend renters take the vehicle into Joshua Tree National Park or other more remote desert locations within 2-3 hours of our home. We can give specific recommendations for Mojave Preserve, Mojave Trails National Monument and other desert public lands.Weitere wichtige DingeWe prefer no technical off-road travel. While the cabin is built on a 1-ton truck with 4WD, there are things built onto the cabin that can easily be bumped if travelling on rocky dirt roads (stairs, water storage tanks, propane, etc).
For longer trips, depending on use, you may need to dump the grey and black water tanks and fill up water every 1-3 days.

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
Anytime between noon and 5 or 6 pm. It is easier to do the hand-off in the light, so we prefer you arrive at least an hour before sunset (timing depends on time of year).
Q.Do you have a generator?
A.
At this time, we do not have a generator for the RV. It is solar and battery powered. We will update this if we find people prefer to have a generator.
Q.How long do the batteries stay charged in the cabin without shore power or being charged by the engine?
A.
The batteries stay charged for about 48 hours but it is highly variable depending on how much electricity is used. For example, the fridge uses the most electricity and if turned to the coolest setting, it can drain the batteries within 24 hours. The battery charge can be checked periodically to ensure that it isn't going down too low. You can always turn on the engine to charge the batteries if there is no shore power. We will show you all these things during the handoff.
