- no driving on beaches. Our beaches have quicksand areas and claim many vehicles a year.- Not allowed to drive all way to Kennicot mine. The maintained road ends at Chitina Alaska. The road from there to McGrath is 65 miles, really rough, and single lane. And tires get holes in them.
It is best to get on the shuttle to Kennicot from Chitina.
