Fantastic First-Time RV Experience – 2024 Jayco Flight SLX 17BHW We rented this 2024 Jayco Flight SLX 17BHW from Valley RV Supercenter for a 4-day family trip to the Hoh Rainforest, and it was an overall great experience! As first-time trailer users, we really appreciated how helpful and patient Eva (the rental associate) was. She made sure we had the right tow setup and walked us through everything clearly. The trailer was brand new, clean, and ready for a dry camping adventure—batteries fully charged and the fresh water tank filled. The built-in solar panels were a huge plus, keeping everything powered during our off-grid stay. Our site did have some foliage cover, but we did have good exposure to sun throughout the trip. We brought an EcoFlow battery as a backup and only used it as a test on the last day; the solar handled the trip easily on its own. One helpful tip: if you're renting this trailer, get the $80 starter kit. It includes things like the fresh water hose and black water hose. We opted to buy those items separately and ended up spending more than the cost of the kit. For a trip like ours, the kit would’ve saved time and money. The only downside: no pets allowed, which meant our dog couldn’t join us inside the trailer. Just something to keep in mind for fellow pet owners. Even with the starter kit, the overall rental price was very competitive—lower than other similar trailers we considered. We’d absolutely rent this unit again and recommend it to anyone, especially first-time RVers looking for a great dry camping option.
