"El Capitan" Winnebago Revel - Pet Friendly!

El Capitan was surprisingly easy to drive, back up, and it even fit into standard parking spots. I really appreciated the agility of this compact van, especially when compared to my previous experience of pulling a trailer. Its diesel engine had plenty of power to climb the multiple mountain passes on my trip. The solar-powered electrical system was a game-changer from my old way of camping; I didn’t have to worry about running out of battery to run the pump, fan, and USB ports while I was dry camping. James was responsive, helpful, and kind. I had to contact him a couple of times while I was on the road because I wasn’t sure how something worked, and he immediately got back to me with excellent explanations. A wonderful trip and a great experience. Definitely recommend.

We had a great time with the van, took a trip up the Pacific Coast Highway. James was really good at responding to some issues we had (self-inflicted) and the van was really easy to use but watching Jame's video is a must, really helps guide you. We will do this again!

James was great. He has an awesome van in great shape and ready for any adventure. I highly recommend both James and his amazing Revel. We had a great two weeks travel through Death Valley and southern Utah.

If you’re looking for a van that truly has everything you need to have a great trip without constantly hooking up to shore power, refilling and emptying your tanks, going to different campsites for showers, James’ van is the perfect rig. I love the fact that you have the option to be off-grid for a good amount of time and not have the anxiety of losing power or water. We took a quick coastal trip from Bodega Bay to Mendocino then back to Sac and El Capitan handled the curvy, rainy roads of Highway 1 and snowy/icy mountain roads of Highway 20 like a dream. Powerful when you needed it to be, while smooth enough to be comfortable. The van sure is beautiful too! I found myself admiring it every time I walked back to it while parked. In addition to the van, James himself is a stand-out host, very communicative, available when you need him, and super accommodating. He provides a video explaining all of the features of the van and it’s super helpful—we referenced it many times throughout the trip to make sure we were doing things right. I would definitely rent from him again if I have another adventure in the future! I’ve rented a couple different converted Sprinter vans with differing sizes and being a little taller than 5’11”, I had some trouble fully stretching out in bed without touching the pop out. I did make it work by sleeping a little diagonally, so it wasn’t a huge problem in the end. Just a heads up if you’re over 6 feet!
