What appliances need A/C power via a generator?
A.
The outlets and things plugged into them such as the TV, the microwave, and the air conditioner all rely on AC power supplied by either 30A shore power (provided at designated RV campsites) or a generator. The air conditioner is a 15000BTU system and needs ample power to start and run (more than 3000W). Our 4500W generator can power the entire camper while a single suitcase generator, one that is 2000W, can power the outlets and TV but most likely not the microwave and definitely will not the AC

What works without a generator?
A.
The interior fridge, the heater, the sound system, all lights and interior fans, water pump, hot water heater, etc. Basically everything else. Camping without a generator is feasible if you plan to be in a colder climate where you need heat but not AC and you have an alternative way to charge your devices (e.g. portable charger)
