Welcome Back Harriet! after an extended maternity break from renting our van our lovely lady is back and available to take you on your next adventure.Take a trip with Harriet, the stylish but super functional micro camper van. From San Diego drive up to Palm Springs or Joshua Tree for a winter getaway or make your way up the pacific coast highway. This rig is the perfect getaway vehicle for two. With a compact kitchen and a foldout bed, it has everything you need for your next adventure. It's easy to drive and small enough for you to use smaller campsites and other RV restricted areas. It gets great fuel economy (28 on the highway) and does well in cities, windy roads, and interstates.Was ist inbegriffenThe kitchen is equipped with a butane stove and a small sink. Under the bench there is plenty of space for pots and pans and whatever cooking wares you want to bring. There is a fridge at the back of the van that will hold up to 27 cans of beer...or so I'm told.The solar power will keep the fridge going and still leave some in the tank to power the lights, the water pump, and charge your electronics. There is a small sink for washing dishes and brushing teeth. There is an inverter for if you need to pull out your work laptop but we hope it doesn't come to that. EmpfehlungenWe're located in San Diego California and within range of so many great camping opportunities. Make a trip up to Yosemite in the spring or early summer to see the waterfalls in action or work your way up the Pacific Coast Highway. If you're never seen the giant redwoods, this is a must.Weitere wichtige DingeOutdoorsy defaults to a rental pick-up time of 3pm and a return of 11 AM. Such a late pick-up time is not ideal for many of our guests, nor does it work well for our schedule. Our default pick-up time for all rentals is 10 AM and return time is 11 AM unless we have arranged otherwise. If you would like to add extra hours to your rental, we have add-ons to accommodate returns and pick ups outside of our standard times. Late returns that are not scheduled ahead of time will incur a $10/hr late fee.Harriet does great in moderate climates all the way down to the twenties but is not appropriate for areas that could experience snow.We realize we're right there on the Mexican border, but we must insist that all van trips stay inside the United States. Anyone crossing into Mexico or Canada will forfeit their security deposit.We cannot rent to anyone under the Age of 25. Unfortunately, Outdoorsy's insurer will not approve the insurance for drivers under the age of 25.In the past we had a fairly high rental rate to accommodate a 150 mile/day mileage allowance. We are experimenting with flipping this. All rentals will pay $0.35 per mile, but as a result we are able to significantly lower our rental rate. Please estimate the total miles you plan on taking in your trip as longer trips can get expensive quickly.

Do I need to fill the tank before I return the van?

A.

Yes Please. We will fill the tank before your pick up. We ask that you return the van full (or close to full). If the gas tank is not mostly full when it is returned there will be a charge to the deposit for the cost of refilling the tank.

Are there outlets for charging my phone at night?

A.

Yes. Both the front and the back of the van have USB outlets. There is also an inverter for charging laptops or other electronics.

Why don't you include any miles?

A.

We've decided to experiment with lowering our rental amount. The best way for us to do this was to lower the allowed mileage...all the way to 0. For guests traveling less than 150 miles per day, this will actually give a savings. Guests who travel 150 miles or more/day will pay slightly less than if we had our original rates which were about $45 more but had a 150/day mileage allowance.

How do you clean your van?

A.

We currently have a minimum of two nights between rentals. This allows us to fully clean and then disinfect the van.

We are Kyle and Claudia, camping enthusiasts and owners of VanVan Campers. VanVan Campers is a micro camper-van rental company with one van (for now). We started this company with the goal of facilitating adventures. Located in San Diego, we're the perfect jumping off spot for a variety of excursions. Claudia worked in the consulting and health insurance industries for almost a decade before deciding to explore other career options. Kyle is a musician for the San Diego symphony. They moved to San Diego from NYC in March, 2020 right as the pandemic got out of control. They are looking forward to many camping trips in their new micro camper van.
