I recently spent some time in this Sprinter van, exploring the landscapes of Utah and Arizona. While it took some getting used to, I ultimately had a great experience.One thing to keep in mind is that the van has some quirks and limitations.The cracked front window creates a serious glare in the desert sun, making it challenging to drive during the day. Additionally, the cruise control doesn't work at night, and the automatic high beams can be overly sensitive. But more importantly, I want to caution that traveling at night in this van is not recommended. The limitations are severe, and it can be a real challenge to drive safely.I also found that the solar panel isn't powerful enough to run the air conditioning, so you'll need to plan your energy usage accordingly.There are also some repairs that need to be addressed, such as the damaged side window, and the rear ladder, which has some damage and wobbles a bit when driving. Additionally, the sink's drainage system requires manual operation, and there's no window cover for the front windshield.Furthermore, I had a bit of a setback when I was pulled over due to a license plate cover that obstructed the plate. This led to a traffic stop, which unfortunately made me miss my dinner plans. It's an easy fix, but it's something to be aware of.On a related note, it's worth mentioning that you can't leave the water pump on when not in use, which can be inconvenient since the switch is located at the very back of the van. This requires a bit of extra planning and attention to ensure you're not wasting water or energy.Despite these issues, I found the van's power system and amenities to be easy to use. With a little patience and understanding, I was able to settle in and enjoy my time on the road.If you're considering renting this van, I'd recommend taking some time to get familiar with its unique characteristics.With the right mindset and expectations, you can have a great time exploring the American Southwest during the day.
