Frida - 1993 VW Kombi

Hi there, I just want to leave some feed back on the rental of Frida that we returned two days early today. - First the drivers seat belt constantly jamming, leaving it slack most of the time and which would have rendered it ineffective and dangerous in the event of a crash. - Both wing mirrors were subject to excessive movement when the vehicle was moving. Coupled with the fact that both driver and passenger windows were inoperable without opening the doors meant that they could not be adjusted when driving on the freeway and often left myself blind when trying to lane change. In my opinion this is dangerous and should be attended to ASAP. - As mentioned above, both front powered windows could not be operated without opening the door first. Although this was mentioned when we took possession of the van it was implied that this was an intermittent fault but the windows didn’t work at all when the doors were closed. - The passenger seatbelt jammed when put on and there was no “give” in the ratchet. - The steering was extremely sloppy, although I do accept that this may be the driving characteristic of a 30 year old van with no power steering the van tracked alarmingly at times to the right especially when driving at speed. As an additional comment we found it difficult to book camp sites at short notice and our early return of the van was largely down to the fact we couldn’t secure a campsite over the weekend. It might be worth while adding to your website or to your “where to stay” suggestions email to prebook campsites in advance to avoid missing out on the limited camping spaces available on the island. We thought the team was lovely and super helpful we just wanted to give some honest feedback so you can improve your service and give other customers a more satisfactory and safe experience.
