RV Shipments Roll into 2021 with a 20% Projected Increase

2020 may have been a less than ideal year for most industries, but it seems that nothing can stop the RV industry. Not even COVID-19.

In fact, demand for RVs is such that RV shipments are projected to increase by 20% in 2021, with an estimated 500,000 wholesale RV units expected to ship next year.

Despite suffering a two-month industry shutdown at the beginning of the pandemic, the RV industry quickly bounced back as spring gave way to a summer spent safely on the road and in a more comfortable, spirit-renewing version of isolation — the outdoors.

With RV travel making it easy to social distance and travel safely — most are equipped with bathrooms, kitchens, and places to sleep — exploring the great outdoors became a top go-to for people looking to get away from it all.

So, what’s it all mean? Whether you’re looking for something to do with your RV when you’re not using it or have been thinking about getting into the business of owning and renting a small fleet, it seems like 2021 might be the year to finally take the plunge.
