If you’ve ever wanted to explore the open road but thought RV rentals were off-limits until 25, good news: many Outdoorsy RVs are now available to travelers 21 and up.
Who Can Rent
Drivers aged 21–24 can now rent select RVs in the United States, as long as they meet a few safety and eligibility requirements. These are the same protections that keep Outdoorsy’s community safe, trusted, and road-ready.
You’ll need to:
- Get verified: Complete Outdoorsy’s driver verification process.
- Keep it clean: Maintain a good driving record (no DUIs, no major violations).
- Stay domestic: Trips must take place within the U.S.
- Cover your bases: Choose from our Basic or Essential protection packages.
- Pay a standard surcharge: There’s a $25/night young-driver fee, similar to other vehicle rentals.
Same trust. Same protection. Just more people able to join the fun.
What You Can Rent
The available vehicles are focused on approachable, road-trip-friendly rigs that are easy to handle and perfect for first-time renters:
- Campervans (Class B): Compact, comfortable, and adventure-proof.
- Class C Motorhomes: More room to stretch without losing drivability.
- Towables & Pop-Ups: A great fit for campgrounds, festivals, or quick getaways.
(As always, Class A motorhomes and Fifth Wheels remain available for renters 25 and up.)

If you’d rather skip the driving part, you can still enjoy the full RV experience with a stationary rental.
Hosts deliver and set up the RV at your destination—so you get all the perks of RV life (real bed, A/C, private space) without ever turning the key. This option is also open to guests 21 and up.
